About Carnival of Oddities

Carnival of Oddities is a public relations agency that exclusively represents emerging rock artists. We also like to help out other small businesses that operate within the genre sector, too. The company was born out of a love for rock music and a fierce passion for supporting independent creators, especially those who may be new on the scene. Unlike a lot of intermediaries in the music industry, we don't expect you to come "ready made" — not only is that an unrealistic and unfair expectation, but that's not what Carnival of Oddities is about. We're here to build you up as you are. We believe that the right audience for you won't come from conforming to "industry standards," but rather by being yourself. That said, Carnival of Oddities is a home for the misfits, the outcasts, the rebels, the challengers, and more. Whoever you are, we're here to go to bat for you. Carnival of Oddities was founded by Lindsay Teske. In her five years in the music industry, she's done everything from hang posters in venue toilets to assist with a PR campaign for Gene Simmons. Lindsay holds a bachelor's in Public Relations and Advertising from DePaul University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and a master's in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship from Goldsmiths, University of London, where she graduated with Distinction. Lindsay is also a music journalist, having been a longtime writer for Consequence, serving as Assistant Editor for RAMzine, and spearheading AMPLIFY., a digital publication that exclusively covered emerging rock artists (if you're thinking that this is what planted the seed for Carnival of Oddities, ten points for you). It was through her ongoing journalistic work that she grew to feel that a majority of the press releases she received were underwhelming and didn't do the artist justice, which is why she decided that Carnival of Oddities needed to exist to change this and shake things up — after all, artists deserve better.
