The First Nations Business Development Association (FNBDA) is a British Columbia Society established in 2020. It represents and advocates for First Nation-owned development corporations throughout the province. The organization was created to enhance representation for these corporations, filling a unique gap in the existing landscape of Indigenous organizations. FNBDA's mission is to support and create opportunities that benefit the economic well-being of its members. It operates through three main approaches: facilitating connections between First Nation businesses and government/industry stakeholders, sharing relevant business information, and promoting best practices and industry expertise among its members. The organization aims to strengthen the influence of First Nation-owned businesses in British Columbia. Additionally, FNBDA has partnered with SFU Beedie Executive Education to develop educational programs that address the capacity needs of First Nations development corporations. This initiative promotes economic development while respecting Indigenous perspectives.
