About Hewers

Hewers is a niche market reputation consultancy focussed on crisis communication and reputation risk management, protecting personal and brand reputation. It is South Africa's first and only dedicated crisis communication consultancy. We don't treat a crisis the way public relations practitioners do. We consider it a discipline all on its own. We've developed a unique model based on many years of strategic communication knowledge, research and experience as well as international best practices. We have recently launched Hewers Reputation Analytics (HRA), a tool to measure and manage reputation. It helps to identify potential crisis and prevent reputation damage. The name Hewers was inspired by a speech of Apartheid architect Hendrik Verwoerd. The late politician once said that black South Africans ought to be trained to become "hewers of wood and drawers of water". We're proud Hewers, here to share your load.
