Since our founding, KCD has served as a trusted community hub, breaking down communication barriers and promoting equity, inclusion, and accessibility in every area of life. We provide a wide range of services to support individuals and families: Interpreting Services – Professional, qualified sign language interpreters for medical, legal, educational, business, and community settings, available in person or through video remote interpreting (VRI). Advocacy & Case Management – Helping clients access housing, healthcare, employment, and legal support while ensuring their rights and communication needs are respected. Education & Outreach – Offering Deaf awareness training, workshops, and American Sign Language (ASL) classes for businesses, schools, medical providers, and community groups. Community Programs – Organizing social, recreational, and educational events that connect people, reduce isolation, and celebrate Deaf culture. Senior Programs – Weekly meet-ups, wellness sessions, and partnerships with agencies like CAC to support older adults in living independently and with dignity. Youth Engagement – Clubs, mentoring, and activities that encourage leadership, identity, and connection among Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth. Through these programs, KCD not only ensures equal communication access but also advocates for systemic change in healthcare, education, employment, and public life. Our services strengthen connections within the Deaf community and build bridges with the hearing community, fostering a more inclusive society for all.
