About Seattle Chinese New Immigrants Center

Seattle Chinese New Immigrants Center (refer to as SCNIC) is a volunteer-run non-profit organization with a mission to provide a platform for new Chinese immigrants to engage in, be empowered by, and adjust to their new community. Attached please find a statement with SCNIC's vision, mission and brief background. We are anticipating a big turnout of 250 to 300 people, the majority of which are recent EB-5 immigrants from mainland China and many have chosen to live in the Great Seattle area. This is a powerful group of people, consisting of China's fine elites - successful business leaders and community leaders. Our goal is to welcome these new members of our community and help them feel valued and connected. 面对新移民的种种困难和需要，会长逢喜率先并创意地成立了"西雅图移民之家"。这是一个非盈利性质组织，其宗旨是：提供各种服务渠道，帮助华人新移民，排忧解难，为新移民尽快能融入美国新的生活环境和秩序，提升华人地位，构建一个平台和桥梁。没有强大的政府支撑，草根出身的"移民之家"完全由热心义工来运营。每一位义工都是曾经的新移民，经历过所以新移民会遭遇的困难。如今新移民都变成了老移民，他们满腔热忱愿意把多年积攒的经验、资源和各种社交人脉都分享给新移民，帮助他们缩短适应期，快速融入社会，开始新生活。
