About Back to the Roots Switzerland

Seit 2017 kommen mehr und mehr Informationen ans Licht, wonach in den 1980er Jahren Adoptionen – insbesondere Auslandsadoptionen aus Sri Lanka in die Schweiz – unter unklaren, oft ungesetzlichen Umständen erfolgt sind. Der Verein engagiert sich für die Interessen adoptierter Personen in der Schweiz, insbesondere auch gegenüber der Öffentlichkeit und Politik. Der Verein setzt sich zum Ziel, die Wahrheit über die früheren Adoptionsverfahren im Allgemeinen als auch konkret bezüglich bestimmter Einzelpersonen zu finden. Der Verein setzt sich ein für die Anerkennung und eine Wiedergutmachung des geschehenen Unrechts und kämpft dafür, dass sich solches nicht wiederholt. Der Verein fordert und fördert insbesondere: ● die Aufklärung der Öffentlichkeit und der konkret Betroffenen, ● die Unterstützung von adoptierten Personen im Prozess der Herkunftssuche, ● die intensive Kontrolle des Adoptionswesens und -verfahrens. Der Verein unternimmt verschiedene Aktivitäten zur Verfolgung dieser Ziele, insbesondere die Anregung von und Teilnahme an Interessengemeinschaften. Der Verein konzentriert seine Aktivitäten auf Auslandsadoptionen und Adoptierte aus Sri Lanka. Er arbeitet mit Organisationen im In- und Ausland zusammen, die ähnliche Ziele verfolgen. Der Verein unterstützt und nutzt Initiativen und Technologien, die dazu beitragen können, den Kontakt zwischen Adoptierten und ihren leiblichen Familien herzustellen. Der Verein verfolgt ausschliesslich gemeinnützige und ideelle Zwecke. Das Wohl der adoptierten Personen steht bei allen Aktivitäten im Vordergrund.
